Action resumed at the Spartan tip-Off Classic Friday evening at Bushnell- Prairie City High School with three games being played.
The night’s final contest saw Macomb bounce back from its first loss by posting a 58-34 victory over Bushnell- Prairie City.
MHS improved to 3-1, while B-PC slipped to 0-4.
The opening contest saw Illini West defeat Illini Bluffs 54-34, improving to 3-1 in tournament play. IB dropped to 1-3.
The second contest saw Abingdon-Avon remain unbeaten, improving to 4-0 on the season with a 64-41 victory over West Prairie (1-3).
The opening contest saw the Chargers assert themselves early, taking an 11-4 lead after the first quarter before outscoring the Tigers 14-2 in the second period in building a 25-6 halftime advantage.
Illini West enjoyed a 43-17 lead heading into the final eight minutes.
Wesley Robertson topped Illini West with 13 points.
Ethan Carlisle added 10 points for the Chargers.
Griffin White led IB with nine points., while Ty Basham added seven for the Tigers.
The second game of the evening saw the Tornadoes control the initial 16 minutes on the way to the win.
A-Town sank five 3-pointers in the opening period on the way to scoring 20 points. That allowed A-Town to build a 20-10 lead after the initial eight minutes.
The Cyclones managed just two baskets in the second period, scoring eight points in all. A-Town added two more treys, finishing the period with 19 points. That allowed the Tornadoes to breeze into halftime with a 39-18 advantage.
Ryan Clark topped West Prairie with 13 points, while Holden Coplan added 11 for the Cyclones.
Matt Whitman, Gannon Shipman and Braden Coplan added four points each for West Prairie.
Ivan Beck and Brody Cordell added two points apiece, while Austin Nelson chipped in a free throw for the Cyclones.
The final contest of the evening saw the Bombers fly out to a 17-4 lead after the opening eight minutes on the way to a 29-13 halftime advantage.
Macomb had eight different players score in the third period as the Bombers chalked up 22 points on the way to building a 51-27 lead heading into the final stanza.
Ten different players finished in the scoring column for the Bombers.
Kellen Martin topped MHS with 15 points. Carter Havens added 12 points and Drew Watson 10 for the Bombers.
Nick Elbe added six points and Carter Hobson finished with five points for the Bombers. Meanwhile, Nolan Hoge, Isaac Leinbach, Collin Adams, Marshaun Brown and Zacarion Conley all chipped in two points apiece for the victors.
De’Arion Ruffin-Thomas topped B-PC with 15 points.
Braylon Griffitts and Ryan Adler added five points each, followed by Charles Rudolph with four points.
Connor Palm scored three points, while Cam Shinn added to for the Spartans.
The final day of the tournament, originally scheduled for Saturday, was postponed due the weather.
According to B-PC athletic director Nate Zaehringer as of Monday, the revised schedule has the event concluding this week.
Wednesday evening will have Illini West playing Macomb at 6 p.m. followed by B-PC facingAbingdon-Avon.
The following evening, the B-PC and West Prairie JV squads will play at 6 p.m. followed by the varsity contest between Illini Bluffs and West Prairie.
