“Percy Jackson and the Olympians” - Season 2 One boy’s epic quest continues in Season 2 of the family adventure series “Percy Jackson and the Olympians,” premiering Wednesday, Dec. 20, on Disney+.
Based on the bestselling book series by Rick Riordan, the series finds young Percy Jackson (Walker Scobell, “The Adam Project,” 2022) being sheltered at Camp Half-Blood, a sanctuary for demigod children, after the death of his mother. Discovering that he himself is a demigod, Percy, with the help of his new friends Annabeth (Leah Jeffries, “Beast,” 2022) and Grover (Aryan Simhadri, “Trevor: The Musical,” 2022), sets out on a quest to prove himself, confront his origins and pursue new enemies in search of the Underworld, hoping to find out whom he’s truly destined to be. Now, this second installment sees Percy returning to Camp Half-Blood one year later, only to find his world completely changed — including learning of his long-lost cyclops brother, Tyson (Daniel Diemer, “Under the Bridge”). “Merv” (2025) Whatever happens, you have to do it for the dog. In the new romcom “Merv,” premiering Wednesday, Dec. 10, on Prime Video, former couple Anna (Zooey Deschanel, “New Girl”) and Russ (Charlie Cox, “Daredevil”) have only one thing keeping them attached: their beloved dog, Merv. But, with their new puppy co-parenting arrangement making it awkward and miserable for all involved, Merv seems to lose his spark. Whisking Merv away to Florida, Russ hopes that some sunny beach time can get his pup back on track. But, when Anna shows up unexpectedly, the pair work together to mend their dog’s broken heart — and find a few of their own sparks rekindling along the way. From director Jessica Swale (“Summerland,” 2020), “Merv” is written by Dane Clark (“Mr. D”) and Linsey Stewart (“The Commute”).
