I have nothing against sports. Loved the Yankees and the Dodgers when I was growing up. Think I attended most of the basketball games while at WIU but that might have had more to do with Dick Redlinger-but I digress. Saturday, I came in at 5:30 to watch the world news. No world news-sports on every network. 10:00 pm, I turned on TV to watch local news-sports on every network. The point being though people enjoy sports and though they have their place in our world our whole evenings programming should not just be sports. I also want to know what is happening in our world. Rant over.
Thanks to all who came to our Bazaar. It was deeply appreciated. Please remember the PCCC when you need to host a gathering. Call 309 333 7778 for reservations.
The Colchester Historic Society met on Monday evening.
Cheryl Douglas spoke on St. Francis Hospital which was once in Macomb. Very interesting. She also mentioned that big things will be happening at the Colchester Brick Yard. Good news.
The Antiques and Collectibles Club met at the Macomb city hall on Wednesday evening at 7:00 pm. Good meeting. All are invited to attend and the topics are always interesting. This month it was show and tell. I took a Victorian hair wreath and a hair bracelet. Find Victorian hair things both lovely and fascinating. Please feel free to join us in January on the 3rd Wednesday of the month.
My kitties were looking at something in the leaves. Not hurting anything or chasing anything but just observing. Finally went to see what they were looking at and it was a young mouse. I had dumped out a bucket of oil sunflower seed and I think the mouse went out with the seed. Couple of days later I dumped a box of cracked corn mix for birds and it had 2 mice in it. I don’t believe my kitties know that they are supposed to catch mice but are more like Tom and Jerry and believe they are friends.
A reading this week included this as part of the prayer, “Help me to trust that you will provide what I need even if it does not look like what I thought or hoped it would.” (look like) A little difficult to wrap one’s mind around. But we pray daily for things.
I pray for friends, neighbors, my country and the world. Often my prayers seem not answered as I would like them to be. Guess we just have to trust that things will eventually work out for the best.
Prayers for healing sometimes are answered by the “best possible outcome”. We just need to keep hoping for the best. In addition to prayers, we need to help out when we can. I see evidence of this with so many people helping to feed those who are needing some help right now. “God bless us everyone.”
Have a good week. Hope there is someone you can enjoy Thanksgiving with and have a good meal. Scatter Kindness and Love.
