The Bushnell-Prairie City High School girls basketball team wrapped up action in the RW/Ridgewood Tournament this weekend with a pair of contests.
On Friday at Oneida, the Spartans battled Monmouth United in the first of two crossover contests.
Points were few and far between for both teams with the Red Storm notching a 21-13 victory.
B-PC took a 7-0 lead after the opening period as Jules Kreps scored five points, while Kendyl McCleery added a basket.
United outscored the Spartans 6-2 in the second quarter, cutting its deficit to 9-6 at halftime.
B-PC maintained a 13-12 advantage heading into the final eight minutes, but United outscored the Spartans 9-0 in the decisive quarter to complete the comeback for the win.
Kreps topped B-PC with five points, while McCleery and Justice Klinedinst added four points each.
The Spartans finished the game 0-for-12 from the free throw line.
Ada Kunkle topped United with 15 points, including all nine Red Storm points in the fourth period.
United finished the contest 4-of-12 from the free throw line.
On Saturday, B-PC returned to Oneida to face Rockridge in the seventh place contest.
The Rockets outscored the Spartans in each quarter on the way to a 50-28 victory.
Rockridge (2-2) led 12-4 in the opening eight minutes on the way to building a 27-13 halftime advantage.
The Rockets held a 40-20 lead entering the final frame.
Klinedinst led B-PC with 14 points. McCleery added seven points, followed by Jersey Jones with four and Kreps with three.
Amaya Ernat topped Rockridge with 22 points, 11 in the second period.
Leah DeCook added 10 points for the Rockets, followed by Haylee Boden with seven and Tatum Lowe with six.
B-PC made 5-of-18 of its free throw attempts, compared to 5-of-12 for Rockridge.
B-PC is now 1-3 on the season. The Spartans return to action on Dec. 1, playing at Beardstown (3-1).
