LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
During the 2024 presidential election, Trump claimed he knew nothing about Project 2025, yet here we are only nine months in with almost 50% of its systematic government tear down complete (see: Project 2025 Tracker). Nearly 70 % of Trump’s administration/ regime are authors of, or associated in one form or another to, Project 2025. Once again it can be said, Trump lied.
The Heritage Foundation, the authors of Project 2025, was established in the early 1970s to combat desegregation. Segregation is their goal. An 'Aryan' race is their goal. The visual of the white racist adults yelling and threatening Ruby Bridges, an African-American six-year-old, as the little girl entered a previously all-white school in 1960 Louisiana is etched in everyone's mind. Those folks became the Heritage Foundation.
In their view, only white men should have rights and run the country. A good look at their inception and the rise of these fundamentalists to manipulate and control the three branches of government are plainly laid out in the documentary 'Bad Faith.' Take the time to view this disturbing look at those who truly believe that the amendments to the Constitution should never have happened. Originalists of the Constitution that do not believe in giving women power by voting, and slavery was perfectly fine because white men were profiting. Their sights are set on ridding government of social safety nets for the working class and the most vulnerable among us. Safety nets that became necessary due to corporate greed.
The goal of the Heritage Foundation and their template to dismantle government is to take away from the American people. There is no giving to the taxpayer in this document. The beneficiaries of your hard-earned tax dollars are corporations and the ultrawealthy. Pay-to-play is their platform.
These last 40+ days of government shutdown brought to light the safety net of SNAP and WIC, benefits for America’s low-income earners. These benefits are squarely marked to be eliminated in Project 2025 (p.310), along with school meals, and other taxpayer- funded assistance these families sorely need. This will be completely eliminated as the regime continues their assault on the American people whether a deal to open the government has been reached or not.
It is more than evident that Trump relishes having people suffer as he refused to release the funds multiple times that sat idle waiting to be disbursed to the families in need; suing all the way to the Supreme Court to withhold the funds all while he builds himself a ballroom and has lavish donor parties each weekend of the shutdown. 'Let them eat cake' is on full display for the world to see. There is more to come, just read Project 2025.
