Two members of the Macomb High football squad have been selected to this year’s Illinois High School Football Coaches Association (IHSFCA) Class 4A All-State Team.
Junior linebacker/running back Drake May was one of 18 players named to the first team.
On defense, May finished with 141 total tackles (48 solos and 93 assists), including six tackles for loss and one sack.
Offensively, he rushed for 1,138 yards on 163 carries for an average of seven yards per carry. He also scored 15 touchdowns.
Meanwhile, senior wide receiver/defensive back Drew Watson was one of 18 players receiving honorable mention accolades.
Watson finished the year with 47 catches for 800 yards and seven touchdowns.
Defensively, Watson recorded 34 tackles, including two for-loss, along with four interceptions at safety.
While playing all10 games on offense, Watson played just six games on defense due to a shoulder injury.
Macomb finished the 2025 season with a final record of 9-2, including a 6-1 mark in the Lincoln Land Large School Division.
The Bombers defeated Hillcrest 21-6 in the opening round of the Illinois High School Association Class 4A playoffs before seeing their season ended by Geneseo 29-0 in the second round on Nov. 8.
