Mayor Declares November 8, 2025, Altrusa International of Macomb Day

On Tuesday, Oct. 28, Mayor Michael Inman proclaimed November 8, 2025, as Altrusa International of Macomb Day to honor the club’s 60th Annual Altrusa Bazaar. A group of Altrusa members attended the proclamation where Mayor Inman thanked the women for their contributions in improving the quality of life in Macomb.

The Annual Altrusa Bazaar runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 8 at the Macomb High School, filling the hallways and Commons with more than 150 vendors. Food trucks will line the circle drive, and the club will offer baked goods for free-will donations. Visitors can also purchase tickets for a gift basket raffle and a 50/50 drawing.

Community literacy is the local club’s passion and focus. Altrusa provides books to area children through school visits and community events. The club also partners with organizations including the Macomb Lion’s Club, Rotary, United Way, McDonough District Hospital Foundation, Baby Talk, and the Salvation Army.

“The holiday bazaar is our largest fundraiser,” said club member Thurman. “Proceeds support college scholarships, literacy projects, winter boots for children, and Make a Difference Day volunteer efforts.”

Admission is free, but attendees are encouraged to bring a new or gently used children’s book to donate.
