Interested in learning a new art proficiency? Or are you an experienced artist wanting to add another form of artistry to your repertoire? Wherever you fall, the Macomb Arts Center will be hosting an “Intro to Pastels” class on Saturday, November 1, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., at 25 East Side Square. In this class, participants will discover essential pastel techniques, gain hands-on experience and leave with the skills needed to create expressive and lively artwork.
Pastels are vibrant sticks composed of pure pigment bound with gum or wax, serving as a wonderful medium to craft more lifelike artwork. Under the guidance of Tracey Maras, participants will explore how to integrate this expressive medium into any project that sparks their curiosity, while mastering techniques to infuse texture and dimension into the visual stories they wish to bring to life on paper. In this class, students will receive a 24-piece pastel set (to take home) and pastel paper.
Students will need to bring some materials with them.
The class fee is $125, with limited scholarships available. To learn more or to register, visit macombartscenter. org.
