More than 230 eighth graders from the area attended Spoon River College on October 23 to explore careers in modern manufacturing. The annual event, part of National Manufacturers Month, was organized by the Macomb Area Economic Development Corporation (MAEDCO) and the Workforce Innovation Board (WIB) to connect younger students with local manufacturers.
Representatives from Pella Corporation, NTN Bower, Yetter Manufacturing, Marshalltown, Schuld/ Bushnell, and Midwest Control Products showcased career opportunities and introduced students to today’s manufacturing technologies.
