The Bushnell-Prairie City High School volleyball squad wrapped up its regular season last week, dropping a 25-21, 25-10 decision to visiting Rushville-Industry on Oct. 23.
Stats for the Spartans included the following: Service Aces – Kyra Shamblin, two. Set Assists – Brynlee Beekman, 14. Kills – Justice Klinedinst, seven; Jules Kreps, four and Josie Farwell, two.
Digs – Shamblin, four and Mylee Chenoweth, three. Blocks – Caroline Spangler, four and Farwell, two. The Oct. 20 home match against the Illinois School for the Deafwas was cancelled due to ISD not having enough healthy players to field a team.
B-PC (0-26) entered Illinois High School Association Class 1A Regional play Monday evening at Mackinaw, facing sub-sectional top seed Illini Bluffs (24-3).
Monday’s second match had No. 8 seed West Prairie (1916) facing No. 9 seed Peoria Christian (19-16).
Tuesday’s quarterfinal round contests have No. 4 seed Tremont (17-17) facing No. 14 seed Peoria Heights (4-19) at 6 p.m. before No. 5 seed and regional host Deer Creek-Mackinaw (16-18) squares off with No. 12 seed Midwest Central (10-17).
The semifinals are slated for Wednesday with the title match scheduled for 6 p.m. Thursday.
