86, of Macomb
Royce E. Headley 86, passed away Friday Oct. 17, 2025 at 8:01 AM at The Lamoine in Macomb.
He was born March 9, 1939 on a farm near LaHarpe, to Henry and Florence (Johnson) Headley. He married Joyce (Constable) Headley on September 18, 1966. She survives.
He attended Bradshaw school until 1950 when his family moved to a farm in Scotland Township near Macomb. He then attended McNair Country School; graduating from Macomb High School in 1957 and attended Western Illinois University for one year. He worked at West Side Lumber before serving in the army from 1962 to 1964; then Wayland ready mix before working 28 years as a lineman at McDonough Power Co-op.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years and two sons, Heath and Julie (Fox) Headley of Lee, Illinois, and Darren and Carla (Kimler) Headley of Oswego, Illinois; four grandchildren, Drew and Emily (Schilling) Headley, Jilliann Headley, Benjamin Headley, and Lauren Headley; sister-in-Law, Carol Headley and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents, three siblings Charles Headley, Marjorie and Ralph Butler and Myron Headley; nephew Tim Butler, and step father Clarence Parkins.
Cremation rites have been accorded. Per his wishes, there will be no services. Ashes will be interred in Oakwood Cemetery.
