B-PC Volleyballers Take Part In Pair Of Tournaments

The Bushnell-Prairie City High School varsity volleyball team has been busy in recent weeks, taking part in a pair of tournaments.

On Oct. 11 at the 10th annual Lady Tiger Volleyball Classic at Beardstown, the Spartans finished play with an 0-4 record.

In Orange Pool play, B-PC lost to host Beardstown 23-25, 25-12, 15-3.

Stats for the Spartans included the following: Digs – Justice Klinedinst, 14; Mylee Chenoweth, nine; Marryn Ferguson, seven; Brynlee Beekman, seven and Natalie Willey, four.

Blocks – Klinedinst, one. Service Aces – Ferguson, four.

Kills – Beekman, three and Josie Farwell, two.

Set Assists – Beekman, five.

B-PC was defeated by Lewistown 25-12, 25-15.

Stats for the Spartans included the following: Service Aces – Klinedinst and Chenoweth, two each.

Digs – Ferguson, seven; Klinedinst, seven; Chenoweth, four; Kyra Shamblin, three and Farwell, two.

Blocks – Ferguson, two and Klinedinst, one.

Kills – Farwell, one. Set Assists – Beekman, one.

Th e Spartans played their third pool play match against Havana, losing to the Ducks 25-16, 25-15.

Stats for the Spartans included the following: Service Aces – Ferguson and Klinedinst, one each.

Digs – Kendyl McCleery, six; Chenoweth, four and Ferguson, three.

Kills – Klinedinst, two; Jules Kreps and Ferguson, one each.

Set Assists – Beekman, four.

The Spartans wrapped up tournament play with a loss to South Fulton.

On Oct. 16, the Spartans returned home for a Prairieland Conference South Division contest, facing South Fulton for the second time in six day.

The visiting Rebels notched a 25-8, 25-15 victory.

Stats for the Spartans included the following: Set Assists – Beekman, nine.

Kills – Farwell, three; Ferguson, Klinedinst and Jayden Johnson, two apiece.

Digs – Klinedinst, five; Shamblin, four; Chenoweth, three; Kallie English and Willey, two each.

Blocks – Ferguson, one. On Saturday, the Spartans hosted their annual six-team round robin tournament.

B-PC finished the day with an 0-5 record.

The Spartans lost to West Hancock 25-13, 25-16.

Stats for the Spartans included the following: Set Assists – Beekman, eight.

Kills – Ferguson, six; Caroline Spangler and Klinedinst, one each.

Digs – Chenoweth, three; Shamblin, English and Beekman, two apiece.

Blocks – Spangler, two and Klinedinst, one.

B-PC was defeated by ROWVA/Williamsfield 25-10, 25-10.

Stats for the Spartans included the following: Set Assists – Beekman, three.

Kills – Johnson, two.

Digs – Chenoweth, nine; Shamblin and Kallie English, four each; Beekman, two and Aubrey English, one.

Blocks – Spangler, one. The Spartans lost to West Central 25-17, 25-8. Stats for the Spartans included the following: Set Assists – Beekman, one.

Kills – Klinedinst and Johnson, two each.

Digs – Kallie English, three; Ferguson, Klinedinst and Chenoweth, two apiece.

B-PC was defeated by North Fulton 25-17, 25-9.

Stats for the Spartans included the following Set Assists – Beekman and McCleery, four each and Farwell, one.

Kills – Klinedinst, four; Farwell, three and Johnson, two.

Digs – Chenoweth, three and Shamblin, two Blocks – Spangler, three. B-PC was defeated by Abingdon-Avon 25-11, 25-17.

Stats for the Spartans included the following: Set Assists – Beekman, four.

Kills – Ferguson, two. Digs – Ferguson and Willey, two each.

Blocks – Ferguson, four; Spangler and Farwell, two each.

B-PC (0-25) returned to action Monday, hosting the Illinois School for the Deaf.

The Spartans wrap up the regular season Wednesday, hosting Rushville-Industry.

B-PC enters regional play Oct. 27 against Illini Bluffs in the IHSA Class 1A Regional at Mackinaw.
