Bushnell Womans’ Club met recently at Tellers on Monday, October 13. Phyllis and Tim from the MDH PT Dept demonstrated chair and easy standing exercises which all the ladies participated in. They gave out informative handouts on everything that MDH Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation has to offer.
With Halloween in mind, hostesses Gayla Sullivan, Linda Thurman and Laura Chaffee decorated and served Baklava, Apple dump cake, Cider donuts, Cider and water. Sixteen members answered the roll call question “What is your favorite season?” with Fall being the most chosen.
JoEllen Pensinger, president, led the business meeting. She reported that several members were asked to be railroad crossing guards at this past year’s May Day and Fall Festival events. Several members expressed interest in doing this again next year.
Jane Zarello reported the Library is planning a Meet the Veteran event at the library on November 11 and asked the ladies to help host the event. Linda Raby reported she sent a card to Donna Barclay who had surgery at the end of September.
Plans for the VFW Holiday Craft show on December 7, were discussed. The ladies will be selling cookies &/or candy again this year. Gayla Sullivan will meet with Linda Louthain and further information will be given at the next meeting in November.
The next meeting will be November 10 at Tellers at 7:00. Hostesses will be Vicki Reimolds, Becky Osborne and Jane Zarello. Roll call will be “What is your favorite Thanksgiving pie, Pumpkin, Pecan, other?”
