TUESDAY After School Program Blandinsville First Christian Church After School Program for Kindergarten through High School students from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm.

SATURDAYS Life Skills Program Blandinsville First Christian Church Life Skills Program for 5th grade through High School students from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon on the third Saturday of each month.

Story Hour and Crafts Saturdays at The Blandinsville-Hire Library at 10 AM.

Snacks will be available. Check out the many new kids and young adult books. Spend some time at the library and take a book home to read!

SUNDAY Youth Group Blandinsville First Christian Church Youth Group for 5th grade through High School students from 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm.

Bushnell

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 17 Sip and Shop is back!

Please join us for an evening of sipping, shopping and fun at the Bushnell VFW, 181 E Hail St., from 6-9pm. Small bites provided and a hand picked wine list served by Auxiliary members.

OCTOBER 28 Friends Feeding Friends Meal

at the CCC in Bushnell from 4:30-6:30PM. The meal is free.

Donations are accepted, but not expected. We are serving hot dogs, chips, fresh vegetables, and s'mores. Our proceeds will be shared with the Bushnell Honor Flights.

SATURDAY, NOV. 8 80’s & 90’s Music Trivia

Come and get your groove on at the 80’s & 90’s Music Trivia at the Bushnell VFW at 6pm to benefit the Bushnell Pool. Organize your teams now! $10/player or $100/table (10 players max). Register early by emailing bushnellpool61422@yahoo. com. Food will be available for purchase or bring your own snacks, silent auction & prizes, 50/50 drawing and music by DJ Dan Shipman.

WEDNESDAY, OCT. 15 Library Quilt Painting Fundraiser from 1-9pm at the Colchester Library. Cost is $25, 15” board and different designs to choose from.

THURSDAYS & SATURDAYS Macomb Farmers Market This year's last two outdoor Macomb Farmers Markets will be in Chandler Park on Thursday & Saturday mornings from 8 am to Noon. Shop for fresh local fruits & veggies, homemade baked goods, local honey & jam, locally raised mums, and personal care products & hand-crafted goods made by local artisans. Saturday's free live music will be provided by the Prairie Dogs. The first indoor Winter Farmers Market will be on Sat, Nov. 22 from 8:30 to Noon in the American Legion Hall (on E. Washington between Randolph & Campbell).

TUESDAY, OCT. 14 Audubon Society Presentation on Bats

Western Prairie Audubon Society will present Cathy Zigler Likes Bats at 7pm at Macomb City Hall. The presentation will include issues such as bat biology, ecology, why everyone should protect bats and why so many species are struggling to maintain viable populations.

Macomb Bands Fall Fest & Band Concert 5-7pm held inside the Macomb High School Commons. In an evening of music, beginning with the 6th grade band and ending with the MHS Marching Bomber Band, parents and the Macomb community are invited to have dinner while enjoying the sounds of our band students

WEDNESDAY, OCT. 15 MBA Meeting

MBA Meeting 11:30-1:00pm at The Old Dairy. Speaker: Steven Brody, Executive Director, Macomb Area Chamber of Commerce Antiques & Collectibles Club Meeting meeting will feature a panel discussion on “How to Disperse Your Heirlooms, Collections, and Genealogy Records.” from 7-9 PM in the Community Room of City Hall, 232 East Jackson. All meetings are open to the public.

THURSDAY, OCT. 16 Celebration of the Book Clubs Join us as we celebrate 21 book clubs at our third Celebration of the Book Clubs in McDonough County from 5:30-7:30pm at the Western Illinois Museum.

MONDAY, OCT. 20 County Genealogical Society’s meeting

at 6pm at the Bushnell Historical Society’s new location at 470 E. Main St. in Bushnell (note-not at the Western Illinois Museum). Come see us at our new place. Everyone is welcome to attend.

SATURDAY, OCT. 25 Fall Western Illinois Fiber Festival at the McDonough County 4-H Center from 10am-4pm. Meet and shop with fiber farmers, dyers and artisans. Carding and spinning demonstrations will be going on throughout the day. Farm to table meals will be available from C&N Farms and Lay’s Bakehouse Kitchen.

Stand Together Against Breast Cancer at the Air Evac Lifeteam 144 Base, 529 East Grant St., Macomb from 12-3pm. Enjoy lunch, guest speakers, educational resources, a few fun giveaways and more.

FRIDAY, NOV. 7 Youth For Christ Fundraising Banquet at the Spoon River College Outreach Center, doors open at 6, dinner served 6:30. Cost is $25/person, each table seats up to 8. Please register by October 31, RSVP online at yfcwi.org/ banquet or by phone at 309-833-3026.
