McDonough County’s 200th anniversary is just around the corner, and the McDonough County Genealogical Society reminds residents and history lovers that the official Bicentennial Ornament is still available—while supplies last.
This exclusive keepsake features a detailed 3-inch, three-dimensional cutout of the historic McDonough County Courthouse, a county landmark since 1872. Each $20 ornament comes boxed with a brief history of the county, making it a perfect memento to celebrate two centuries of community pride.
Ornaments can be purchased at the McDonough County Genealogical Society Center inside the Western Illinois Museum, 201 South Lafayette, Macomb, and at the Community News Market, 13 East Side Square, Macomb.
Center Hours: Tuesday: 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. Friday: 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Saturday: 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. Shipping is also available for $10 per ornament for those who cannot visit in person.
