Bomber Harriers Race At Runnin’ Red Invitational

The Macomb High cross country teams headed to Metamora Saturday to race in the Gene Jones Runnin’ Red Invitational at Black Partridge Park.

All races were 2.94 miles in distance. The MHS fresh-soph girls finished sixth out of 14 teams with 191 points.

Normal University High led the way with 27 points, followed by Normal Community High (81), Moline (105), Eureka (129), Rochester (147) and MHS.

Individually for the Bombers, Ella McKee finished seventh out of 123 runners, posting a time of 19 minutes, 27.10 seconds.

Allexis Gray was next for MHS, finishing 21st (20:13.10), followed by Khloe Diggs (24th, 20:43.00), Sofia Cardenas-Roman, (72nd, 23:15.90) and Leah Gorman, (106th, 26:21.50) Moline’s Annabel Paquette was the race winner, finishing in a time of 18:28.30.

MHS had three runners in the varsity girls race.

Ava Weaver finished 98th out of 216 runners with a time of 20:58.30.

Laney Weaver was 205th (27:05.90) and Jackie Rouse was 209th (27:59.10).

Peoria Notre Dame’s Lillian Chaddock won the race with a time of 17:23.20.

There were 210 runners in the fresh-soph boys race.

Landon Richards led the way for the Bombers, finishing eighth in a time of 16:34.20.

Xander Merritt was 65th for MHS (18:18.20), followed by Thomas Ashwood (118th, 19:39.80) and Grant Potteet (160th, 20:52.10).

Henley Bourne of Geneseo won the race with a time of 15:50.30.

MHS had two runners in the varsity boys race.

Eymen Tasdan finished 165th out of 301 runners with a time of 18:00.40.

Cohen Hunt-Twomey was 212th, posting a time of 19:15.70.

Thomas Jochum of Glen Ellyn Glenbard South was the individual winner with a time of 14:26.10.
