The Macomb High varsity volleyball team posted a 2-2 record at the Sherrard Volleyball Classic.
The Bombers defeated Kewanee Wethersfield 25-16, 25-23 before rallying to edge Rockridge 26-27, 25-10, 15-9.
MHS then lost to United Township 25-20, 19-25, 16-14 before wrapping up play with a 25-13, 25-18 loss to Mendon Unity.
Stats for Macomb players on the day included the following: Anistyn Lovell – 68 set assists, 19 digs and three service aces Cadence Hotz – 21 kills and six blocks Dakota Thorman – 10 kills and three blocks Jordan Hines – 20 kills, 36 digs, seven service aces and three blocks Jersee Mills – 13 kills, 24 digs, three blocks and four service aces Brixley Lidaywa – 14 kills, six digs and two blocks Emily Westerhold – 32 digs Jordyn Shoopman – 23 digs and five service aces Macomb is now 14-11 on the season. The Bombers headed to Camp Point Central (2-19) Monday for a non-conference match before hosting West Prairie (18-13, 2-1) in a Prairieland South Division contest Wednesday at The Hangar.
A win by the Bombers would clinch the South Division title with a perfect record of 5-0.
