At approximately 1:35 p.m. on October 7, 2025, the Blandinsville Hire Fire Department responded to a large hay bale fire at a local farm. En route, they requested assistance from three additional departments for manpower and tankers.
Upon arrival, firefighters encountered an intense blaze, prompting a call for two more tanker units. Limited water supply complicated efforts due to the distance from the nearest hydrants.
Command also requested Lifeguard Ambulance Service to provide rehab support for firefighters and called in the Macomb Fire Department’s air trailer to refill air pack bottles.
Departments assisting Blandinsville included Laharpe, Good Hope, Rartian, Colchester, and Emmet Chalmers. All units cleared the scene by approximately 8:00 p.m.
