86, of Macomb
Duncan Lee Bradley, 86, of Macomb passed away at 3:46 p.m. Sunday, October 5, 2025 at Carle Health Methodist Hospital in Peoria.
He was born on April 2, 1939 in Chicago to Maurice Edmond and Ethel Virginia Carroll Bradley. He married Renné Colette Angel in Carbondale in 1968. She survives.
Also surviving are one son, Parker (Joanna) Bradley of Macomb; daughter, Commander Esther (Patrick) Rist of Reston, Virginia; one grandson, Merrick Bradley; one sister, Carol Ann Reiman and one brother, Robert Bradley.
He was preceded in death by his parents. Duncan has lived in Macomb since 2017. He was a renaissance man and a deep thinker. For over 30 years he was a Criminal Trial Attorney and Public Defender in both Colorado and New Mexico. Duncan was also a Philosophy Professor, pursued his life long passion in the discipline of Philosophy and shared with all. Before becoming an attorney, Duncan worked for the Jefferson County, Colorado Sheriff’s Department as a detective. Among his numerous pursuits, he was a long standing member of the Masonic Lodge attaining the level of 32nd degree Mason and in the late 1960s he served in the Peace Corps in Iran. Duncan was an accomplished and published author of works of fiction, history, language and philosophy. Duncan’s family was his whole life, he was deeply loved and will be remembered with deep affection.
