The Macomb High girls tennis team returned to action Tuesday Afternoon, dropping a 5-4 decision at Quincy Notre Dame.
It was the second meeting of the season between the two schools.
Back on Sept. 2 in Macomb, the Bombers recorded a 6-3 victory.
Singles results from Tuesday’s rematch were as follows: No. 1 - Lucy Platt, Macomb defeated Lydia Miller, QND, 6-4, 6-2.
No. 2 - Sydney Hamm, Macomb defeated Anna Robb, QND, 6-2, 6-3.
No. 3 - Darah McFadden, Macomb defeated Audrey Linenfelser, QND, 6-3, 6-1.
No. 4 - Brielle Robb, QND defeated Griffin Schauble, Macomb, 6-7 (3), 6-1, 11-9.
No. 5 - Addison Bainter, Macomb defeated Ellison Barnes, QND, 6-1, 6-3.
No. 6 - Alex Terwelp, QND defeated Sophie Hansen, Macomb, 7-5, 6-3.
Doubles results were as follows: No. 1 - Brielle Robb and Miller, QND defeated Platt and Hamm, Macomb, 6-7 (5), 6-2, 10-4.
No. 2 - Linenfelser and Anna Robb, QND defeated McFadden and Schauble, Macomb, 6-1, 6-3.
No. 3 - Terwelp and Jenna Tracy, QND defeated Bainter and Hansen, Macomb, 7-5, 6-4.
Macomb is now 10-7 on the season in dual meet competition with one meet remaining on Oct. 14 against Alleman Catholic at Rock Island.
The Bombers will then head to Dunlap for Illinois High School Association Sectional competition on Oct. 17-18.
Joining the Bombers and the host Eagles will be Galesburg H.S., Geneseo, Kewanee H.S., Peoria Notre Dame, Peoria Christian, Alleman Catholic, Sterling H.S. and Sterling Newman Central Catholic.
