Macomb High School Senior Scott Cousins collected more than 60 used instruments on Sept. 6 and 13 as part of his Eagle Scout project to support Hungry for Music, a nonprofit that provides instruments to children in need.
Jeff Campbell from Hungry for Music recently picked up the donated instruments. They will be repaired, repurposed, or parted out to distribute to thousands of students worldwide.
Hungry for Music has distributed about 2,000 instruments annually for 31 years, placing instruments in the hands of children who otherwise couldn’t participate in music programs. The organization works with U.S. sponsors—including businesses, schools, and churches—to send instruments to communities both domestically and abroad.
