The regular season continues to wind down for the Macomb High boys soccer squad.
On Sept. 27, the Bombers dropped a 9-0 decision to host Jacksonville High.
The Crimsons (10-2-2) led 6-0 at halftime. MHS returned to action Monday afternoon, hosting Quincy Notre Dame with the visiting Raiders recording a 6-0 victory.
QND (3-11-3) led 4-0 at the half. Macomb is now 2-14-0 on the season with two more matches remaining.
On Saturday, the Bombers will host Alleman Catholic (11-3-1) in an 11 a.m. contest.
On Oct. 9, MHS will host Geneseo (1-130) in its regular season finale.
The Oct. 6 match with Limestone has been canceled and will not be rescheduled.
The Illinois High School Association is scheduled to release postseason pairings on Friday.
Assignments have been announced with Macomb being placed in the Chillicothe “B” Sub-Sectional.
Other teams in the sub-sectional include Abingdon-Avon, Beardstown H.S., Canton, Illini Bluffs/Farmington, Kewanee H.S., Monmouth-Roseville, Port Byron Riverdale, Quincy Notre Dame and Rock Island Alleman Catholic.
QND and Alleman will serve as regional hosts.
The opening round of regional play is scheduled to begin on Oct. 17.
