The Macomb High girls golf team swung back into action Monday afternoon, hosting Monmouth United, Rockridge and Havana at Gold Hills.
United topped the field with a team score of 155.
MHS was next at 183, followed by Rockridge (186) and Havana (218).
Playing on the 2,320 yard par 35 front 9, United’s Meredith Yung earned medalist honors in shooting a 36. Teammate Paige Christianson was runner-up, finishing with a 38.
Taylor Mann led MHS, posting a career-best ninehole score of 41.
Reese Watson followed with a 45, while Elise Sullivan also set a career low in carding a 47.
Brenlee Tibbitts closed out the top scores for Macomb with a 50.
Mullen Butcher recorded a 52 and Aubrey Holthaus a 57 with their scores not counting toward the team total.
Amaya Ernat topped Rockridge with a 43, while Averie Johnson led Havana with a 51.
In JV play, United’s Aileen Taylor earned medalist honors with a 47.
Macomb’s Grace O’Hern was runner-up, shooting a career-low 51. Emrey Seward finished with a 67, while Destiny Buckner posted an 80.
The Bombers played their final home match of the season Wednesday, facing Illini West.
Macomb recorded a 175184 win, moving to 11-4 on the season in dual meet competition.
Watson notched her second medalist honor of the season, shooting a 39 on the 2,464 yard, par 35 back nine at Gold Hills.
Sophie Wilson was next with a 42, followed by Mann (45), Tibbitts (49), Butcher (49) and Holthaus (56).
Priya Wear topped Illini West with a 43.
In JV play, Sullivan recorded a 47, followed by Seward (56), O’Hern (59) and Buckner (79).
The Bombers head to Galesburg on Saturday to play in the Streaks Invite at Bunker Links.
On Sept. 30, the team will head to Valley View Club in Cambridge for Illinois High School Association Class 1A Regional play.
Other schools set to field full teams include Brimfield, Elmwood, LVC, Mercer County, Monmouth United, Orion, Ridgewood, Rockridge, ROWVA/Williamsfield and Sherrard.
Schools set to send individuals, but not field full teams include, Annawan/ Wethersfield, Biggsville West Central, Galva, Kewanee H.S., Knoxville and Monmouth- Roseville.
The top three teams will advance to sectional competition. In addition, the 10 best scoring individuals that are not members of a qualifying team shall also advance from the regional to the sectional tournament.
It should be noted that ties for the last individual qualifying spot will be broken with an on-course play-off.
The sectional is scheduled for Oct. 6 at Wolf Creek Golf Course in Pontiac.
The IHSA Class 1A state final is scheduled for Oct. 10-11 at Red Tail Run Golf Course in Decatur.
