The Macomb High boys golf team hosted Quincy Notre Dame and Abingdon- Avon in its final home match of the regular season Monday afternoon at the Macomb Country Club.
In varsity play, QND defeated Macomb 144-162. A-Town had just three golfers and did not figure into the team scoring.
Luke Chapla topped the Bombers, finishing with a 37 on the par 35 layout.
Ethan Dildine was next with a 40, followed by Drew Taylor at 42 and Isaac Leinbach at 43.
Eli Griffith shot 44 and Toby Royer 48 in rounding out the Bomber scores.
QND’s Harper Hough was medalist, shooting a one under par 34. Olliver Hendrian was next with a 36, followed by Beau Eftink and Kale Friye with 37s.
In JV play, the Raiders recorded a 163-176 victory.
Sam Helling and Kollin Knupp topped MHS with 40s, followed by Carter VanVleet (47) and Lauren Young (49).
Other scores for the Bomber JV included Jaxon Barclay (51), Nick Elbe (52), Logan Lambert (55), Nolan Schmidt (56), Peter Gottwald (62) and Bentley Karlinski (66).
The Macomb High varsity has two regular season tournaments remaining.
On Friday, the Bombers are scheduled to play in the University High Invitational at the Weibring Golf Course in Normal.
On Saturday, the team will participate in the Streaks Invitational at Bunker Hills in Galesburg.
The Bombers and Macomb Country Club will then play host to an Illinois High School Association Class 2A Regional on Oct. 1.
Joining the Bombers will be Canton, Dunlap, Galesburg, Illinois Valley Central (Chillicothe), Jacksonville H.S., Limestone (Bartonville), Lincoln and Quincy Notre Dame.
The top three teams shall advance to sectional competition. In addition, the 10 best scoring individuals that are not members of a qualifying team shall also advance from the regional to the sectional tournament.
It should be noted that ties for the last individual qualifying spot will be broken with an on-course play-off.
The sectional will be held Oct. 6 at Prairie Vista Golf Course in Bloomington.
The IHSA Class 2A state finals are slated for Oct. 10-11 at the Weibring Golf Course in Normal.
