The City of Macomb invites residents to a public forum on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, to learn more about the proposed new sports and events facility.
The event will take place from noon to 1 p.m. at the Spoon River College Community Outreach Center, 2500 East Jackson Street. Attendees can stop by anytime during the hour to visit informational stations, ask questions, and engage with city representatives about the project.
The proposed complex would feature 4,000 retractable seats, 16 basketball courts, and 8 volleyball courts designed to host indoor sporting tournaments and other special events.
City officials have been exploring funding options for the facility, which aims to boost local sports tourism and provide a versatile venue for community activities. Obtaining public feedback and comment has been a voiced priority for officials.
