Margo Jean Ayala, 83, of Macomb, surrounded by family, peacefully left for her Heavenly home at 1:50 p.m. Tuesday, September 16, 2025.
She was born on July 11, 1942, in San Francisco, California to Dean Slusher and Marjorie Dennis. She was married to Ramon Ayala until his passing in 2007.
She was also preceded in death by her parents. Margo is survived by three sons, Todd (Tami) Byerly of Rockville, Indiana, John (Tracy) Byerly of Terre Haute, Indiana and Joel Byerly of Terre Haute, Indiana; daughter, Ina Ayala of Rochester, New York; three grandchildren, Summer Byerly, Kane Barrett and Ian Ayala and one great-grandchild, Malakai Barnland. She had had many many treasured family members and friends. She was loved by all.
Margo grew up Plymouth and Bowen in Illinois before moving to Macomb. She taught elementary education at Western Illinois University for many years before her retirement.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Macomb, enjoyed playing cards, was a member of several clubs and groups, and loved her bible study.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2025 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Macomb with Pastor Youngshim Pitcher officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on October 11th at 11:00am with a service at noon and luncheon immediately following.
Memorials may be made to the HSMC New Animal Shelter or the Trinity Lutheran Church.
