The Macomb High cross country teams headed to Richmond Hill Park Saturday to run in the Geneseo Invitational.
Three-mile races for boys and girls were held with results divided by school year.
For the freshman boys, Landon Richards finished sixth out of 48 runners, posting a time of 17 minutes, 55.50 seconds.
Jackson Petitgout was seventh (18:09.60), while Thomas Ashwood was 19th (20:22.10).
All three medaled for their efforts. Morton’s Owen Riesburg had the top time, finishing in 16:37.60.
For the freshman girls, Bomber Ella McKee earned a medal as she finished sixth out of 52 runners, completing the course in a time of 21:00.40.
Allexis Gray also medaled as she was 15th for MHS (22:10.40), followed by Khloe Diggs (25th, 24:28.10) and Leah Gorman (37th, 26:09.80).
Natalie Houcek of Wheaton Warrenville South had the top time of 19:25.20.
The sophomore boys race saw Xander Merritt place 26th out of 58 runners, recording a time of 19:25.00.
Teammate Grant Potteet finished 48th with a time of 23:13.20.
Nolan Jared of Rock Island High School had the top time of 16:50.40.
The sophomore girls division featured 49 runners.
Sofia Cardenas-Roman was the lone Macomb runner, finishing 29th with a time of 25:08.90.
Lemont’s Hannah Farley posted the top time, finishing the course in 18:30.40.
Macomb had four runners in the junior boys division.
Alex Simmons led the way for MHS, finishing eighth out of 51 runners, crossing the finish line in a time of 16:54.30.
Marc Simmons finished 16th for the Bombers (18:11.40), followed by Eymen Tasdan (22nd, 19:10.40) and Cohen Hunt-Twomey (37th, 22:12.60).
Both Simmons brothers earned medals for their performances.
Elliot Batz of Rock Island High School posted the top junior time of 15:38.10.
The junior girls division included 41 runners.
Ava Weaver finished 16th with a time of 22:40.70 to earn a medal, while Laney Weaver was 37th (28:51.70).
Geneseo’s Brooklyn Smith posted the top time of 19:08.20.
There were 35 boys in the seniordivision, but none from Macomb.
United Township’s Malik Gbadamassi had the top senior time of 15:59.30.
The senior girls division had 44 runners, including Macomb’s Jackie Rouse. She finished 41st in a time of 30:42.30.
United Township’s Rubi Tapia-Macias raced her way to a top time of 18:53.60.
The Bombers return to action Sept. 27, taking part in the Western Illinois University Invitational at Vince Grady Field.
