
Bonnie Lee Shult (nee Hainline), 95, of Macomb passed away at 4:15 p.m.
Saturday, September 13, 2025 at the Elms Nursing Home in Macomb.
She was born on August 9, 1930 in Blandinsville, IL to F.
Lee and Mabel I. Lucas Hainline. She married Robert N.
“Bob” Shult in Springfield, IL in 1953. He preceded her in death in 2017.
Also preceding her in death were her parents, a sister, Betty Nell Burnham, and one son, Stephen Shult.
Bonnie is survived by nieces and nephews, Ann Burnham, Kathy (Greg) Hagan, Tom (Teresa) Shult, and Robert Shult.
The family would like to thank Bonnie’s neighbors and friends, particularly Merrill Knight, and Nancy Rutledge, for all their contributions to her morale and welfare over the past few years.
Bonnie worked at Citizen’ s National Bank in the early 1950’s, where she first met Bob. In the 1970’s, she worked in the office at WKAI Radio. Bonnie was an accomplished artist, winning many ribbons at regional art shows for her oil and acrylic paintings. She was also a trophy-winning marksman and a long-time member of the Macomb Police Pistol Club. She was an avid pet lover, even pampering the pets of friends and neighbors. Bonnie would have saved ALL of the pets everywhere, had she been able.
Grave side services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, September 22, 2025 at Oakwood Cemetery in Macomb with Pastor A. Lee Unger officiating. There will be no visitation.
Memorial donations may be made to the HSMC New Animal Shelter.
