
James L. Bucher, 91, of rural Macomb passed away at 11:45 p.m. Sunday, September 14, 2025 at Farmington Village Nursing and Rehab Center in Farmington.
He was born on October 26, 1933 in Pekin to Isaac and Fern Kessler Bucher.
He married Susie Schisler on December 3, 1955 in Astoria.
She survives.
Also surviving are two children, Angie (Kent) Cox of Bushnell and Dean (Becky) Bucher of rural Macomb; four grandchildren, Tanner (Shaleigh) Cox, Ethan (Kaycee) Cox, Whitney (Justin) Hodges and Dyllan Bucher; five great-grandchildren, Holten, Maisie, Kade, Hudson, and Emma; two sisters, Alice (Wendall) Clanin of Astoria and Carolyn Bricker of Canton; one brother Albert (Marsha) Bucher of Astoria and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He lived most of his life in McDonough County where he was a lifelong farmer. He and his wife also owned and operated S and J Sales and also sold Balwin Filters Store in Macomb for many years.
He was an Air Force Veteran serving from 1951 to 1955.
He was an over 50 year member of the Macomb American Legion. He went of the Great River Honor Flight Grave side services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, September 19, 2025 at Mound Cemetery south of Bushnell with Pastor Bobby Anderson officiating. Full military rites will be conducted by the Macomb American Legion and the Macomb VFW. There will be no visitation.
Memorials may be made to the New Salem Fire and Rescue Squad or the Macomb American Legion.
