Mayor Proclaims Sept. 18-24 Constitution Week

In Monday's City Council meeting, Macomb Mayor Michael Inman , along with members of General Macomb DAR group, proclaimed the week of September 18-24 as Constitution Week.

Established by the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) in 1955 and later adopted by Congress, the week highlights the importance of the Constitution as the foundation of American liberty and government, encouraging citizens to learn about and defend the document. The United States Constitution, America’s most important document, stands as a testament to the tenacity of Americans throughout history to maintain their liberties, freedoms and inalienable rights. And, Constitution Week is celebrated annually in September to commemorate its history, importance, and bring attention to how it serves still today. Celebrate freedom and democracy in honor of Constitution Week.
