Area H.S. Volleyball Teams See Game Action

Three area high school volleyball teams saw action on the court this week.

Tuesday evening at Farmington, the Macomb High varsity improved to 8-7 on the season with a 25-14, 25-18 victory.

Addy Fox recorded six kills, while Jordan Hines added four kills and two blocks for the Bombers.

Sophie Wilson handed out 19 set assists and recorded 12 digs, while Emily Westerhold also finished with 12 digs.

Reagan Knowles chipped in two service aces for the victors.

The MHS JV recorded a 25-20, 28-26 win, while the freshmen split, losing the first set 25-9 before winning set two 25-17.

The Bombers return home Sept. 23, hosting Illini West in a key Prairieland SOuth Division contest.

On Monday evening, West Prairie travelled to Peoria Heights with the varsity notching a 25-20, 25-13 win.

Alexa Barkley and Abby Starbuck both recorded 10 service points, including two service aces each for West Prairie.

Alexa Barkley also had five kills, while Jaycee Reynoso and Niah Zimmerman chipped in three kills each.

Madelynn Sullivan handed out 13 set assists The JV squad also won its match by scores of 25-17 and 25-12.

On Wednesday, the Cyclones saw their six-match win streak snapped as they lost at North Fulton 18-25, 25-23, 25-15.

The Cyclones are now 8-9 on the season. West Prairie returns to action Tuesday hosting Elmwood. On Monday, Bushnell-Prairie City made the trip to Farmington, dropping a pair of matches.

The Spartan varsity lost 25-16, 25-20, while the JV team was also defeated 25-18, 25-13.

Back on Sept. 11, B-PC faced North Fulton at Cuba with the host Wildcats recording a 25-12, 25-6 varsity victory.

B-PC (0-7) returns to action Tuesday, hosting Abingdon- Avon.
