Al Sears Music Fest will begin Friday night with a concert at American Legion Post 6 in Macomb. The location also hosts concerts nearly every month by the Post 6 Big Band led by former WIU jazz studies program director John Cooper. All events on Saturday and Sunday will be at Western Illinois Museum. Bar service and Sandra’s Authentic Mexican Food Truck will be available.

• Noon-2 p.m. – Allie Garland, country, local talent spotlight
• 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. – Open rehearsal with Bryan Anthony
• 5 to 6:30 p.m. – Richie Bliesener Quartet, jazz, local talent spotlight
• 7 to 9 p.m. – Bryan Anthony, American songbook Sunday, Sept. 21
• Noon-1:30 p.m. – WIU Jazz Combo 1, local talent spotlight
• 2 to 3 p.m. – Community conversation on Al Sears’ impact on music, integration and the music industry featuring Yoseph Henry; current and former directors of the university’s jazz studies program, Whitney Ashe and John Cooper; and Bill Maakestad
• 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. – Yoseph Henry, jazz, R&B and gospel
