The Bushnell-Prairie City football squad ran into a buzzsaw Friday night at Amboy High School.
Facing the defending Illinois 8-Man Football Association state champion Clippers on their home turf, the Spartans proved to be no match as the Amboy/LaMoille/Ohio coop rolled to a 56-6 I8FA West Division victory.
Amboy improved to 2-1 on the season, while B-PC dropped to 0-3. It was the division opener for both teams.
Set up by a long kickoff return, the Clippers scored on their first offensive play, a nine-yard run by Jose Lopez. Colt McCoy added the two-point conversion run and Amboy led 8-0 just 18 seconds into the game.
B-PC fumbled on its second offensive play and Caden Heath picked up the loose ball and returned it 32 yards for an Amboy TD.
