The Macomb High boys golf team finished sixth out of 15 teams in the Redbird Classic held Friday and Saturday at Weaver Ridge Golf Course in Peoria and Metamora Fields Golf Club in Metamora.
The Bombers posted a two-day total of 652. That included a score of 328 at Metamora Fields and 324 at Weaver Ridge.
Drew Taylor led the Bombers as he finished ninth overall, posting a 36-hole score of 153 (75-78).
Luke Chapla was next (81-83-164), followed by Eli Griffith (88-81-169), Ethan Dildine (82-90-172), Isaac Leinbach (86-86172) and Toby Royer (95-98-193).
Morton captured the team title with a score of 617 (310-307). Host Metamora was second (307-311-618), followed by Peoria Richwoods (319-316-635), Wheaton St. Francis (329311-640), Sycamore (327-314-641) and Macomb.
Following the Bombers in the team standings were Peoria Christian (337-324-661), Montini (334-327-661), Geneseo (334-332-666), Normal West (340-334-674), Herscher (337343-680), Bloomington High (339-345-684), DeKalb (353340-693), Rantoul/Paxton-Buckley-Loda (352-348-700) and Limestone (348-358).
Team scores from Metamora Fields are listed first, followed by scores from Weaver Ridge.
The Bombers returned to action Monday, playing in the Prairieland Conference Meet held at Gold Hills.
On Thursday, the team heads to Wee-Ma-Tuk Country Club to face Canton.
