Citizens are receiving calls from restricted numbers where scammers impersonate police officers, falsely claiming there are warrants for their arrest. These fraudsters may have some personal details—like your name, address, or email—to make their threats seem credible.
They might also send texts or emails that look like official arrest warrants, demanding immediate payment to avoid arrest. **This is a scam. Do NOT send any money.** Police officers will never ask for payment over the phone or by email.
If you or someone you know has been targeted, contact your bank immediately to stop any transactions and protect your accounts.
