Legacy Theater Show Lineup

Tickets are now on sale for shows during the second half of the 2025 season at The Legacy Theater in Carthage.

This schedule brings a variety of music from a salute to two great piano- playing singers of the 1970s, to the return of a Christmas classic that helped launch The Legacy Theater, A Christmas Wish.

Sept. 13, Jim Witter’s “The Piano Men” Take a musical journey through the 1970s, with the songs of Billy Joel and Elton John.

Award-winning Canadian recording artist, Jim Witter and his incredible band, will salute these two singer/ song writers at The Legacy Theater in Carthage on Saturday, Sept. 13 at 7 p.m.

“Jim Witter’s: The Piano Men” is a musical celebration of the 1970’s, year by year, hit by hit, from the songbooks of Billy Joel and Elton John.

This musical tour begins with “Your Song” and brings back music of two of the century’s most popular contemporary songwriters. Accented with visuals on a giant screen behind Witter and his band, see the newspaper headlines, the automobiles, the people, the events, the toys and even the TV shows that shaped a decade.

Along the way, hear classic hits like “My Life”, “Candle in the Wind”, “Rocket Man”, “Just the Way You Are.”

With Witter at the grand piano and his talented band mates, the music is not an attempt to “mimic” a long list of familiar hits. Instead, Witter uses his tenor voice to recreate specific landmarks in the pop culture timeline.

Now in its 20th year of touring, “The Piano Men” has enjoyed sold-out performances, return engagements and rave reviews in theaters across North America, Great Britain and Dubai.

Oct. 4, Alive Again! A Tribute to Chicago On Saturday, Oct. 4, at 7 p.m., relive the sound of the band Chicago. For over 50 years, Chicago has created some of the most recognizable songs in music history.

They have been voted “Tribute Show of the Year in 2022” and “Visitors’ Choice Award for Entertainer of the Year” in Branson, Mo.

Nov. 7, Dallas Brass: American Musical Journey On Friday, Nov. 7, at 7 p.m., hear the Dallas Brass: American Musical Journey, with their special guests, our own local high school band students.

Dec. 13 and 14, A Christmas Wish

An original production first presented in 2008, and then again in 2011 and 2016, A Christmas Wish is the show that started the restoration of auditorium that became The Legacy Theater. It is a fitting tribute to the theater’s tenth year.

The show features a mix of outstanding local talent and guest artists telling the story of a young girl away from home on Christmas Eve. Lost and exhausted, she falls asleep. Traditional carols and the music of the Trans-Siberian Orchestra fill the little girl’s dream.

This production is directed by Legacy Theater Foundation board member, Amy Graham. Saturday’s performance is generously sponsored by Carson Motors.
