Finishing tournament play with a pair of wins at Augusta on Saturday, the West Prairie High School varsity volleyball team added a pair of victories in the new week.
The Cyclone JV squad also posted a pair of wins as well.
On Monday, the teams headed to Biggsville to face West Central.
The JV Cyclones won 25-20, 25-21. Kamara Zimmerman and Arianna Soule led the team from the service line with an ace each, with Zimmerman finishing with six service points.
Josie Hodges, Lilly Sheffler, and Ashlynn Kelley also added four service points apiece.
Niah Zimmerman led the team offensively with five kills, while Payton McGrew and Kelley had three kills each.
The varsity match saw the Cyclones complete the sweep with a 25-23, 25-16 victory.
Alexa Barkley led the way on offense with four kills, followed by Niah Zimmerman and Jaycee Reynoso with three kills each.
Niah Zimmerman also had seven digs, along with six service points. Madison McClure chipped in with five service points as well.
Madelynn Sullivan finished with 12 set assists.
On Tuesday, West Prairie faced Farmington in the Cyclones’ longawaited home opener.
The West Prairie JV team won its match by scores of 25-13, 25-20.
Madison McClure led the team on defense and the service line. She had six service aces and seven service points, along with four digs.
Hodges, Niah Zimmerman, and McGrew led the offense. McGrew and Niah Zimmerman had four kills each, with Hodges handing out 11 set assists.
The WPHS varsity also won, rolling to a 25-19, 25-9 victory.
Alyvia Barkley and Alexa Barkley led the team on offense with five kills each. Sullivan recorded 12 set assists.
Sullivan also led the team on defense, with six digs.
Sullivan had nine service points, followed by Abby Starbuck with eight service points.
Macy Branch added seven service points that included three service aces.
West Prairie (6-8, 0-1 Prairieland South) headed to Astoria Thursday evening for a division matchup against host South Fulton.
On Monday, the Cyclones will head to Peoria Heights.
