MHS Girls Golf Defeats Moline, Host Quadrangular

The Macomb High girls golf team posted a dual meet win at Moline before hosting a four-team event at Gold Hills.

On Monday, the Bombers headed to Oakwood Country Club to face Moline High.

The dual meet was originally scheduled for Aug. 18, but postponed due to the weather.

Macomb High recorded a 176-196 victory. Playing on the 2,563 yard, par 35 layout, Reese Watson and Brynlee Tibbitts led MHS with 43s.

Sophie Wilson and Aubrey Holthaus followed, each shooting 45s.

Taylor Mann (48) and Mullen Butcher (55) rounded out the scores for the Bombers.

Moline’s Haley Robertson captured medalist honors, posting a score of 39.

Macomb High also had two golfers taking part in JV play with Grace O’Hern finishing with a 59 and Emrey Seward a 63.

The Bombers returned to Gold Hills Wednesday, hosting Canton, Quincy Notre Dame and Havana.

QND topped the field with a score of 146. Macomb was next at 185, followed by Canton (251) and Havana (256).

Mann topped MHS with a 43 on the back nine, 2,500 yard, par 35 layout.

Tibbitts was next for MHS with a 45, followed by Watson (46), Butcher (51), Holthaus (51) and Elise Sullivan (56).

In JV play, O’Hern posted a score of 59, while Seward and Lillie Lowe each finished with 60s.

The QND duo of Nancy Scholz and Belle Boudreau shared medalist honors, finishing at even par 35.

The Bombers head to the Quincy Country Club Friday to play in the Quincy Notre Dame Tournament.

The team returns to Gold Hills Monday as Macomb High will host the Prairieland Conference Meet.
