
75, of Blandinsville
Larry “Punk” Stoneking, 75, of Blandinsville, Illinois, passed away at 4:30 PM Sept. 4, 2025 at his residence, surrounded by his wife, sister, sister-in-law and cousin.
He was born May 27, 1950 in Macomb, Illinois to James and Doris (Brown) Stoneking; he married Sharon Mitchell Martin on Sept. 25, 1981. She survives.
Also surviving are his children, Adam Stoneking of Sarasota, Florida, Corey (Stephanie) Stoneking of Pekin, Illinois, Jamey (Christy) Martin of Naperville, Illinois, Jennifer Martin of Phoenix, Arizona; a brother Terry (Nancy) Stoneking of Macomb, Illinois; a sister, Connie (Dwight) Stoneking Hart of Colchester, Illinois; a sister-in-law, Kathy Mitchell (Dennis) Little of Macomb; 10 grandchildren, 1 great-grandson who is his namesake Mason King and several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Jerry, Dannie, Jimmie; sisters, Shirley and Betty and a nephew Justin Hart.
He served in the US Navy from 1969-1972 and was aboard the USS Destroyer to Vietnam. He also had the honor of taking the Honor Flight escorted by best friend Larry Riggens. He worked at Bower Roller Bearing from 1974-2019.
“Punk” touched the heart of anyone who was fortunate enough to know him.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:30 AM Saturday Oct. 11, 2025 at the Terre Haute Community Church. Rev. A. Lee Unger will officiate. Military rites will be accorded at the church after the service by the Macomb American Legion & VFW. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Blandinsville Rescue Squad or the Blandinsville Farmers Picnic. Dodsworth-Piper-Wallen Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
