West Prairie wrapped up tournament play in the Lady Suns Classic, while Bushnell-Prairie City continued its early-season run of playing on the road in recent high school volleyball action.
On Sept. 4, West Prairie wrapped up pool play at Augusta, getting edged by Barry Western 27-25, 25-23.
Finishing 0-3 in pool play, the Cyclones headed to Bowen Saturday morning for bracket play.
The Cyclones notched two victories, defeating Beardstown 25-16, 25-16 and Camp Point Central 25-13, 25-10.
Tournament stat leaders for the Cyclones included the following: Assists – Madelynn Sullivan, 64.
Service aces – Sullivan, Abby Starbuck and Kenadie Webster, four each and Niah Zimmerman, three.
Service points – Niah Zimmerman, 21; Starbuck, 19; Kamara Zimmerman and Sullivan, 13 each.
Kills – Alexa Barkley, 25; Niah Zimmerman, 24 and Sullivan, 17.
Digs – Sullivan, 32; Starbuck and Niah Zimmerman, 28 each and Alyvia Barkley, 20.
West Prairie (4-8) returned to the court Monday, heading to Biggsville to face West Central.
The Cyclones play their home opener against Farmington on Tuesday before heading to Astoria Thursday for a Prairieland South Division contest against South Fulton.
Meanwhile, on Sept. 5, B-PC headed to Monmouth for a non-conference contest against host United, dropping a 25-12, 25-14 decision to the Red Storm.
The Spartans (0-4) return to action Tuesday, playing at Peoria Heights.
B-PC will play its longawaited home opener Wednesday against Galva before heading to Cuba to face North Fulton on Thursday.
