The Macomb High boys golf team dropped a 166-167 decision to visiting Quincy High in high school boys golf action Wednesday afternoon at the Macomb Country Club.
Seniors Drew Taylor and Ethan Dildine led the way for the Bombers, both finishing with 40s on the par 35 layout.
Luke Chapla was next with a 43, followed by Isaac Leinbach and Eli Griffith, who both finished with 44s.
Toby Royer rounded out the Bomber scoring with a 49. Quincy High’s Hunter St. Clair earned medalist honors in carding a 38.
Andrew Ali was next with a 42, followed by Jackson Smith and Chase Saalborn, who finished with 43s.
The Macomb High JV squad also took to the links, recording a team score of 187.
Sam Helling, Kollin Knupp and Jaxon Barclay all finished with 46s for the Bombers.
Carter VanVleet and Nick Elbe recorded scores of 49, while Nolan Schmidt carded a 50.
QHS did not field a full JV team, bringing just three players to Wednesday’s competition.
The Bombers were scheduled to face Galesburg Thursday at Bunker Links for varsity and JV competition.
On Sept. 8, MHS will play in the Limestone Invitational at Coyote Creek Golf Course.
The following day, the Bombers head to Westview Golf Course for a rematch against Quincy High.
