Bushnell-Prairie City suffered a non-conference loss, while West Prairie started pool play in the Lady Suns Classic dropping their first two contests in area high school volleyball action.
At Knoxville, B-PC slipped to 0-3 on the season, dropping a 25-19, 25-12 decision at Knoxville.
Triniti Williams recorded three kills for B-PC, while Jayden Johnson, Justice Klinedinst and Caroline Spangler added one kill apiece.
Klinedinst and Johnson recorded one service ace each.
Spangler notched two blocks while Josephine Farwell added one for the Spartans.
Kyra Shamblin had a team-leading nine digs. Klinedinst added three, followed by Kallie English with two and Natalie Willey and Farwell with one each.
Knoxville improved to 5-3 on the season.
The Spartans return to action Thursday heading to Monmouth United to face the Red Storm.
On Sept. 9, B-PC will head to Peoria Heights before playing its home opener Sept. 10 against Galva.
Meanwhile at Augusta, West Prairie dropped its Tuesday pool play match to Rushville-Industry 25-23, 14-25, 15-12.
On Wednesday, the Cyclones faced Mendon Unity, where Mustangs galloped away with a 26-24, 25-15 victory.
West Prairie (2-7) wrapped up pool play Thursday against Barry Western. The Cyclones will then play twice on Saturday in the tournament’s final day.
West Prairie will then head to Biggsville on Sept. 8 to face West Central before hosting Farmington on Sept. 9.
