Three Macomb neighborhoods recently raised over $4000 for the Macomb Band program while competing to win a neighborhood parade from the MHS Marching Bomber Band during their annual March-athon event.
On the morning of August 23rd, members of the drumline and color guard performed short demonstrations while fellow band members collected donations in the competing neighborhoods of Hidden Hills, Compton Park, and south of the Square. With more than $2,000 donated, Compton Park claimed this year’s victory.
Residents of Compton Park will enjoy a special neighborhood parade by the full Marching Bomber Band on Saturday, September 6, at 3:30pm.
The celebration will continue with a free community concert at 4:45 p.m. on the Macomb City Hall lawn. This preview of the band’s fall show serves as a thank you to the entire community for their ongoing support of the Macomb Bands.
The March-a-thon was made possible through the generosity of Ladner and Jain Orthodontics, corporate sponsor of the 2025 event. Proceeds will go toward the purchase of new percussion instruments.
