The Emergency Cupboard, a 24/7 outdoor food closet located at the corner of West Jackson and North McArthur streets, will receive support from the Macomb First Christian Church’s Park Golf Scramble on Saturday, September 20, 2025.
The Park Golf tournament will take place at the Macomb Park District’s Ball Fore course. Teams of four will compete in a fun, shortened version of golf that requires no prior experience. The scramble format is expected to take two to three hours.
Participants can compete for hole prizes, first and second place team awards, and enter raffles and a 50/50 drawing. Lunch and an awards ceremony will follow the event.
Food donations for the Emergency Cupboard will be accepted on-site during the scramble and at the church’s cupboard location.
Early registration costs $160 per team of four and can be completed by emailing church@fccmacomb. org. Late registration will be available starting at 9:30 a.m. on the day of the event. All equipment will be provided, and tee times begin at 10 a.m. Lunch service is scheduled for approximately noon.
Organizers say the scramble is a great opportunity to support local food-insecure residents while trying out the nation’s first municipal Park Golf course.
