One of today’s leaders in the new school hip-hop genre, BigXthaPlug, will bring his swag to Western Illinois University on Thursday, September 25, as part of the University’s 2025 WestFest event.

Coming to Macomb, the Dallas-based rapper has obtained much notoriety in his young career, including achieving platinum- certified status by the Recording Industry Association of America for his singles “Texas,” “Mmhmm,” and “Levels.”

Unapologetic to diversifying his sound, BigXthaPlug took it up a notch with the release of his newest country-trap inspired album, “I Hope You’re Happy” in August, that brought in collaborations with some of the most highly recognized and successful artists, such as Jelly Roll, Luke Combs, Shaboozey, Ink, Tucker Wetmore, Thomas Rhett, Ella Langley, Bailey Zimmerman and Darius Rucker.

Selling out venues across the country, earning a number eight spot on the Billboard 200 with his sophomore album, “Take Care” (with 48,000 album-equivalent units sold in its first week) and gaining recognition and admiration from Rolling Stone, Billboard and Complex, you don’t want to miss this star-studded performance. Tickets for this event are available now on www. wiuwestfest.com - $10 for students and $20 for non-students. Doors will open at 8 p.m., with the show kicking off at 9 p.m., at the University Union Grand Ballroom.
