Even with all the activities at the Bushnell Fall Festival, almost 120 people came to eat turkey and stuffing sandwiches (or roast beef sandwiches) at the Community Christian Center for the Friends Feeding Friends meal. Another 40+ people took carry-out meals (with some eating along the parade route). What few leftovers remained were given to the Food Pantry.
Though never required, donations were gratefully accepted, with a portion of the proceeds given to the Bushnell-Prairie City Backpack Program.
The “Friends Feeding Friends” group would like to thank the Marshalltown/ Vaughn and Bushnell factory for their help in setting up and tearing down, the Salvation Army for their meat donation, and all who donated to, prepared and/or served!
The next meal is scheduled for Tuesday Sept. 23rd.
