The Macomb High girls tennis team opened its 2025 season on Aug. 21, heading to Bartonville to face host Limestone and Pontiac.
The Bombers came away with a pair of victories, defeating host Limestone 5-0 and Pontiac 4-1.
Singles results against Limestone were as follows: No. 1 - Lucy Platt, Macomb defeated Gracie Sims, Limestone, 8-3.
No. 2 - Sydney Hamm, Macomb defeated Trystan Ragon, Limestone, 8-0.
Doubles results were as follows: No. 1 - Griffen Schauble and Addison Bainter, Macomb defeated Ivy Harrison and Paislee Potter, Limestone, 8-6.
No. 2 - Sophie Hansen and Isabella Gage, Macomb defeated Marianna Martinez and Mara Cletcher, Limestone, 8-5.
No. 3 - Darah McFadden and Maria Bice, Macomb defeated Mallory Day and Kami Finn, Limestone, 8-6.
Singles results against Pontiac were as follows: No. 1 - Platt, Macomb defeated Olivia Masching, Pontiac, 8-4.
No. 2 - Hamm, Macomb defeated Avery Butler, Pontiac, 8-0.
Doubles results were as follows: No. 1 - Bainter and Schauble, Macomb defeated Jasmine Ray, and Bailee Burger, Pontiac, 8-5.
No. 2 - Willow Dodson and Elisa Ewing, Pontiac defeated Hansen and Gage, Macomb, 8-6.
No. 3 - McFadden and Bice, Macomb defeated Abby Gall and Emmalee Hammer, Pontiac, 8-3.
The Bombers open the home portion of their schedule Tuesday hosting Moline High at the MHS tennis courts starting at 4 p.m.
On Thursday, the squad is back on the road, facing Peoria Christian.
