The Macomb High girls golf team opened dual meet play Aug. 21 with a 184225 victory against host Rushville-Industry at Scripps Park Golf Course.
Playing on the back nine, par 36 layout, freshman Taylor Mann carded a 43 for the Bombers, earning medalist honors in the process.
Junior Mullen Butcher, freshman Reese Watson and senior Brenlee Tibbitts each finished with 47s to round out the top scores for Macomb.
Junior Aubrey Holthaus and senior Lillie Lowe posted scores of 57 and 59 respectively for MHS.
Sophomore Gretchen Wise paced RIHS with a 54. Freshman Karissa Harrison was next with a 55, followed by seniors Azlynn Shannon (57) and Bella Miller (59).
Sophomore Cora Wise, Gretchen’s twin sister, shot a 72 for the Rockets.
The Bombers faced Moline High Monday at the Oakwood Country Club.
On Wednesday, the Bombers will host Quincy Notre Dame, Quincy High and Rock Island H.S. at Gold Hills.
On Aug. 30, Macomb will take part in the Mercer County Invite at Valley View Golf Course.
