For the past 179 years, Avon Methodist Church has offered the community a place to worship, a place to hear the word of God preached and taught and a place to continue to grow in faith through reaching out into the community. Over the years, the church has experienced many changes.
Changes in pastors and congregant members, changes related to Covid-19 and the constant change of culture.
The most recent change has been the change of the name of the church.
Avon Methodist Church has aligned with the Global Methodist Church and is now called Avon Global Methodist Church.
Although this is a change, aligning with the Global Methodists is a returning to the basic core beliefs which was the foundation set 179 years ago. Avon Global Methodist Church is committed to the Lordship of Jesus and the orthodox faith that founded Methodism. Dependent on the Holy Spirit and fueled by grace, we seek holiness using the authoritative standard of Scripture. We are all sinners saved by grace.
As the new Pastor appointed to the Avon Global Methodist Church, I want to take this opportunity to invite you to come and worship with us. Our doors are open to all and anyone. Our worship service begins at 11:00 with a time of fellowship including coffee and snacks beginning at 10:30. Sunday school is from 10:00 to 10:45.
We all need a place to belong, to be loved, to be known and reminded of the hope that is the only answer to the brokenness in this world, His name is Jesus.
