Bushnell’s community pool and local partners will host the 2nd Annual Grills Gone Wild barbecue competition on Wednesday, September 20, at the Bushnell VFW. Proceeds will support family activities in the community.
All grillers must attend a mandatory meeting at the pool on Wednesday, September 17, at 6 p.m. to review event rules and answer questions.

Entry deadline is Sept. 13, one week before the event.
Event Rules
Cooking may start no earlier than 12:01 a.m. on September 20.
Setup must be finished by 10 a.m. on event day. Overnight setup is allowed, but no cooking before midnight.
Meat must come from licensed retail vendors.
Organizers will provide serving containers, work areas, garbage bags, sanitation stations, and paper towels.
Grillers must bring their own grills, utensils, seasonings, tables, and other supplies.
Participants are responsible for setup, cleanup, and charcoal disposal.
Competition Categories - People’s Choice (based on donation bucket totals) - Poultry - Ribs - Pork - Brisket Grillers may enter multiple categories but must prepare at least 5 pounds of meat per category.
Judging
Judging will take place from 1 to 4 p.m. A portion of each entry will be reserved for judging, with the remainder available for public tasting. Winners will be named 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in each category, plus a Grand Prize People’s Choice winner.
